ART SERVICE

[IMAGE- A participant and care-worker with Papier Mache]

All our participants benefit from the opportunity to express themselves through art – and our Art [To see what artwork is on sale go to 'OFL Products']Service enables each individual to develop skills, creativity and self-esteem.

The service has its own purpose built studio, including a kiln, enabling participation in a wide variety of art mediums, e.g.. textiles, pottery, sculpture, painting, card making, printing and tile mosaics.

Our art workers also hold sessions at our Day Service bases and there are trips to art galleries and exhibitions.

The Art Club

The Art Club is an after school art class for those parents who we support through our Parent Support Service, and their children.

They have proved wonderful opportunities for getting mums, dads and children together to have fun with different materials, such as paint, clay, paper mache, and collage. Sessions have also included a trip out to Warley Woods to make an open air picture from twigs and leaves.

"I think art is more relevant to participants if they can see it has a purpose or a value in the community, so our work is also geared to commissions or to creating displays to support events." Dickon, art worker
