Geoff Coleman, the Chief Executive of the charity, Options for Life, based in Oldbury, is to give a talk about the role of volunteering in 21st century society at the London Tour Event to celebrate the European Year of Volunteering. Options for Life is taking part on 2nd November at the six-day event which started on 29th October. The Event has been organised by the Cabinet Office and is taking place in Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre near the South Bank. A number of small regional charities are attending alongside major national groups such as Sport England, the National Trust and Guide Dogs for the Blind who will be presenting displays and talking about the work they do with volunteers. Accompanying Geoff at the event will be five volunteers sponsored by the European Volunteer Scheme (EVS) who currently volunteer at Options for Life. They are from Spain, Germany, France and Finland and they are looking forward to the opportunity to talk about the valuable support they give to the charity.
