This week at Options for Life has been filled with meaningful moments, exciting exploration, and heartwarming joy across our different groups and sessions. Each activity offered participants a chance to grow, connect, and express themselves in new and enriching ways. Here's a look back at what we’ve been up to!

🌊 Nature Walk at Edgbaston Reservoir

Participants in The Nature Walk Group enjoyed a scenic outing to Edgbaston Reservoir, where they paused for a tasty snack at the Birmingham Settlement charity café. The gentle walk around the reservoir provided fresh air, calming views, and a chance to connect with nature and each other. These kinds of walks are not only great for physical health but also promote mental wellbeing, helping participants feel relaxed, recharged, and present in the moment.

💪 FunFit Sessions – Movement Made Simple

This week’s FunFit sessions focused on equipment-free movement, showing participants that they can stay active even at home. Everyone got involved, moving their hands, feet, and getting their bodies energised with simple, accessible exercises. The joy and laughter in the room reflected just how empowering physical activity can be – building confidence, boosting mood, and encouraging healthy habits.

🌸 Garden Games in the Secret Garden

The ladies had a wonderful time exploring our Secret Garden, now even more fun thanks to the generous donation of games from Morrisons. From giggles to good-natured competition, the garden was alive with joy and play. These sessions help foster friendship, spark joy, and bring a deep sense of community and belonging through shared experiences in a safe, accessible outdoor space.

🎨 Expressing Emotions Through Art

In our Art Session, the focus was on emotions and colour – a powerful and personal topic. Participants discussed how different feelings are linked to colours and created expressive pieces based on their thoughts. These creative conversations support emotional awareness, self-expression, and personal development, giving everyone a voice and a safe outlet for feelings that might be hard to express with words.

🤝 The Friendship Group at Cannon Hill Park & MAC Arts Centre

The Friendship Group had a fantastic cultural day out at Cannon Hill Park and the Midlands Arts Centre (MAC). They explored felt crafts and visited a fascinating sari exhibition that traced the history and evolution of sari fashion. The exhibition included fun interactive elements – like a sari designed for playing football! Everyone was amazed by the creativity and craftsmanship on display. These cultural visits offer opportunities for learning, spark curiosity, and help participants see themselves as part of a wider world filled with history, innovation, and beauty.

💬 Why These Moments Matter
