SNF Water Science Oldbury Team Steps Up for Options for Life with Welsh Coast Charity Walk: An Incredible Day of Determination and Generosity

At Options for Life, we are incredibly grateful to the SNF Water Science Oldbury Team, who recently completed a challenging charity walk along the stunning Welsh coastline to raise funds in support of our work with adults with learning disabilities.

On the 20th of June 2026, the team set off from the picturesque seaside town of Aberaeron, making their way through Aberarth and Llanrhystud, where they stopped to refuel before continuing their journey. From there, they tackled some of the most demanding sections of the route, climbing steep hills in unexpectedly hot weather before reaching another support stop at Morfa Bychan. The final stretch led them into Aberystwyth, where they crossed the finish line after an unforgettable day of determination and teamwork.

Although the breathtaking coastal scenery provided spectacular views throughout the walk, the challenging terrain and soaring temperatures made the event far tougher than anticipated. Despite the conditions, every member of the SNF Water Science Oldbury Team showed remarkable resilience, encouraging one another every step of the way and refusing to give up.

Following the walk, participants celebrated their achievement together and were proudly presented with certificates to recognise their commitment and hard work. It was a fitting end to an inspiring day that demonstrated the power of teamwork and community spirit.

An Incredible Fundraising Achievement

The team's efforts have already raised an amazing £2,642 through JustGiving, with additional cash donations still being counted. This incredible amount will make a real difference to the lives of the people we support at Options for Life, helping us continue to provide meaningful activities, opportunities, and personalised support for adults with learning disabilities across Sandwell.

Every donation helps us empower the people we support to develop new skills, build confidence, make lasting friendships, and live fulfilling, independent lives.
