🌈 Fun, Food, and Creativity – A Joyful Week at Options for Life!

This week at Options for Life has been bursting with colour, creativity, and community spirit as our participants took part in a wide range of exciting activities across different hubs and local venues.

👩‍🍳 Culinary Fun at Home

We kicked off the week with delicious aromas and huge smiles as Claire rolled up her sleeves in the kitchen. With support at her home, Claire made a tasty chicken pie and a delightful batch of chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. There was plenty of laughter and joy as she cooked – and the pride on her face when she saw the results was priceless. Well done, Claire!

🎨 Summer Art at Ocker Hill Hub

Over at our Ocker Hill hub, participants brought a splash of summer indoors with some wonderful seasonal art for the windows. They drew and painted beautiful butterflies and designed charming teacups, which they proudly hung up. The display is now brightening the space and lifting everyone’s mood with its summery vibes.

🐦 Crafting at Langley Library

Participants also enjoyed a creative session at Langley Library, where they crafted vibrant summer bird decorations. The hands-on activity sparked plenty of conversation and laughter, with everyone fully immersed in the joy of making. It's always lovely to see the pride our participants take in their work and the friendships that flourish through these shared experiences.

🌈 Celebrating Pride at Acorn Lodge

A highlight of the week was the colourful and heartfelt celebration of Pride at Acorn Lodge on the 23rd of May. The hub was buzzing with activity, from cocktail making in the main room – where participants explored the colours, smells, and tastes of different fruits – to vibrant music and dancing featuring iconic songs and even a fabulous playsuit from past Birmingham Pride events.

Participants also enjoyed face painting, temporary tattoos, and watching a virtual Pride parade from various cities around the world. The celebration ended with a festive street party lunch, bringing everyone together in a joyful and inclusive atmosphere.

At Options for Life, every week is a new opportunity to connect, create, and celebrate. Whether it’s baking at home, crafting at the library, or dancing in celebration of diversity, our participants continue to inspire us with their enthusiasm and creativity.
